How to Keep the Romance Alive When You Have Children

Once you start having children around the house, you will have to revamp your notion of romance, at least inside the house. First of all, there will be no more quiet candlelight dinners in the patio, or hours spent together in bed or anywhere else in the house. You’ll be lucky to get a couple of hours alone, although you will have to work around the schedule of your children. Don’t worry, there are still many ways to keep the flame alive.
Small gestures become more meaningful in a marriage. Acts like opening doors, offering to carry things into the house, getting your spouse a glass of water, making sure your spouse takes his or her daily meds are all romantic gestures that build the romance. The thing is, if our spouse is doing these already, we shouldn’t take it for granted.
If you get the children involved in these small gestures, you achieve more than keeping the romance alive. You are teaching your children how to treat a spouse, and how to make a marriage work. At the same time, you are building and strengthening the family bond....more to read....
